I have lived in Maine since 1997, but my love for the seacoast was a gift given to me from my parents at a young age on many family vacations along the entire coastal region. I attended the University of Maine in Orono graduating with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education before returning to New Hampshire, where I lived my entire life in the Monadnock Region, to attend Keene State College and earn my Master's Degree in Education. Maine and New Hampshire are the only states that I have lived in so although my geographic scope is limited, I see no reason to live anywhere else but here where I love it. I live in South Berwick with my husband, Kevin and our two boys-Chris and Jack, who's nickname from about two has been "Jack-a-doodlebug". Hence the name "Doodlebugz."
I am a certified teacher and I've taught in many early childhood classrooms, becoming the Director of two Child Development Centers, and I have also worked as the Program Director at a wonderful place for families in Kittery-The Family Resource Center, where I enjoyed working with both parents and children. It is my love for working with the community and my personal desire to work in a job that I love that led me to opening Doodlebugz Studio. I am so happy to be able to work at a job that is actually "living the dream". Thanks to everyone who encouraged me while I was in my dreaming phase and for everyone, especially my husband who has believed in me. It's been a long nine months! What began as a dream back in January 2008 has finally become a reality after so many hours of planning, planning and then working with shear determination to bring the dream to reality.
